Mohammad Rizwan Wednesday replaced Sarfaraz Ahmed as a concussion substitute in the ongoing second Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the Singhalese Sports Club.

The move came after the match referee David Boon accepted the Pakistan team management's request for the substitution, a statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) mentioned.

Sarfaraz was hit on his head while ducking a bouncer by Asitha Fernando in the afternoon session on day three. He remains under the observation of the PCB's medical panel.

Earlier, Abdullah Shafique struck his fourth Test century as Green Shirts stretched their lead to 107 against Sri Lanka.

Pakistan reached 273-3 at lunch after play began on time in Colombo, after Tuesday’s downpours restricted play to just 10 overs.
